ECHO CONCRETE SERVICES
Concrete Services in Asheville & Western North Carolina
ECHO Concrete Foundations is a full service concrete contractor based in Asheville, North Carolina, providing residential and commercial concrete services across North Carolina, Tennessee, South Carolina, and Virginia through four regional field offices. Over more than 40 years and 1,000 completed foundations, builders, general contractors, developers, and homeowners across the Blue Ridge have trusted us with the most critical part of any structure: the work underneath it.
Concrete work in the mountains is not the same as work on flat, predictable ground. Steep grades, narrow access, variable bedrock, shifting soils, a freeze and thaw climate, and heavy rainfall all punish a foundation that was poured without planning for them. Our crews build for the site in front of them, which is why we take on the difficult lots that other contractors pass on. Our concrete services cover the full scope below the framing and around the structure: poured foundations, engineered retaining walls, flatwork and slabs, and Stabil-Loc piers for sites where the soil will not reliably carry a structure on its own. Because we handle these scopes in house, a project moves from soil support to footers to finished flatwork without the gaps that appear when the work is split across unrelated subcontractors.
The way we work is built around the people who hire us. For builders and developers, the foundation sets the schedule for everything that follows, so we coordinate directly with your team, your engineer, and your architect, and we treat the pour date as a commitment. For homeowners building on a difficult mountain lot, we manage the parts of the process that are easy to underestimate, from drainage to access. ECHO carries full liability and workers’ compensation insurance on every project, and our pricing reflects the experience and planning that go into doing the work right the first time. A poured concrete wall is a single, continuous pour, with no mortar joints to crack, shift, or let water through the way block can. We build full depth poured foundations for custom homes, multifamily, and light commercial projects, handling footing excavation, formwork, reinforcement, and the final pour as one coordinated process. Our crews build to the residential concrete standards published by the American Concrete Institute and follow the best practices of the Concrete Foundations Association, the national trade body for poured wall contractors. Steep grades, tight access, and variable mountain soils are routine work for us.
In the mountains, a retaining wall is erosion control and structural protection not landscaping. We build engineered concrete retaining walls designed for the lateral pressure and heavy rainfall of steep Western NC sites, with proper drainage and weep holes built in to relieve water pressure behind the wall before it becomes a problem.
From residential driveways, patios, and garage slabs to commercial warehouse floors, our flatwork team delivers clean, durable finishes built to carry real loads. We match the mix, thickness, and reinforcement to the job so the surface holds up to weather, traffic, and time instead of cracking in a few seasons.
Some sites have soil that will not reliably support a foundation on its own. As a certified Stabil-Loc dealer, we install steel piers driven down to stable, load bearing strata, giving a new build a solid base before the first concrete is poured. It is a practical answer to the unstable clay and steep grades common across the region, and it integrates directly into our turnkey foundation work.
